6 miles - The Birds!!!
Near Aloha High School, there was an stretch of sidewalk through some long grass where I was attacked by 2 birds today. It is funny to think about now, but I was not having any fun while they were diving at me and flying over my head. I must have looked like a madman running with my hands on my head and flailing them over my head everytime the birds dove. I was alternating sprints and sudden stops as though I was trying to avoid sniper fire, it was crazy. Thankfully, they never actually made contact with my head. The rest of the run was pretty uneventful.Day two of CheeseRunning (ChiRunning) has me believing. I ran 6 miles in 54:32 which is probably a PR and it didn't really hurt much at all. Everytime I started to ache a little, I just thought about relaxing and leaning. I think that I was probably running much less efficiently before, because this same run was a lot harder 1 month ago. It also helps that I am down almost 10 lbs in the last month. There is nothing amazing about the weight loss, I've finally started eating better, and I'm working hard. I am NOT dieting. The only thing that is strange to me is that I'm not losing weight consistantly, it's kind of a step process where I'll lose 3 lbs in a week and then not lose anything for 2 weeks.

I’m glad the birds didn’t make contact! I know exactly how it feels to look like a crazy person. This past Sunday, while I was running, I was trying to swat away a million dragon flies that were trying to attack me! :) (As for the weight issue–keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, so as you loose fat, it will be replaced by muscle (more weight). When I was in cross country in high school, I would always end each season weighing 5-10 more pounds compared to the first day of the season).
